Glacier Bay Technology has developed proprietary energy management technology that works in connection with diesel engines making systems cleaner and more efficient. The Company’s first product, ClimaCab, is designed for the over-the-road trucking market and delivers reliable high performance heating and air conditioning without using any diesel fuel.
The system is fully electric and draws, stores and utilizes power generated by the truck’s main diesel engine. The average over-the-road truck currently powers its HVAC system by idling the main engine or via a diesel powered auxiliary unit, both of which are costly, noisy, inefficient and harmful to the environment. With ClimaCab, trucks can save up to 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel per truck per year, improve compliance with increasingly stringent “no idle” regulations, reduce greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 40 tons per truck per year and reduce maintenance costs and unit downtime.
Glacier Bay Technology’s core technology will also be leveraged in a broad range of future applications.
